The road map is one of the most distinctive — and often misunderstood — features of baccarat. At 18ph, all live tables display a road map in real-time so you can track the pattern of previous results. Here's a quick breakdown of the four main roads:
The most basic road. Blue circles represent Player wins, red circles represent Banker wins, and green represents Tie. This is the first road to read and gives you the clearest picture of recent game flow.
A simple grid showing every result in order — Player, Banker, or Tie. No patterns, just raw data. Useful for counting how many hands have been played in the shoe.
Derived roads that track whether the shoe is showing consistent patterns or chaotic results. Blue means "follow the pattern," red means "choppy." These take some practice to use but many experienced baccarat players swear by them.
Important note: roads do not predict future outcomes. Baccarat is a game of chance and each hand is independent. Roads are a visual tracking tool, not a winning strategy. Always gamble within your means at 18ph.
Baccarat has a special place in Filipino gaming culture. Walk into any casino in Manila — Solaire, Okada, City of Dreams — and you'll find the baccarat tables packed. It's a game that Filipinos genuinely love, not just because it's glamorous but because the rules are simple and the house edge is among the lowest of any table game. At 18ph, we've brought that same high-quality baccarat experience online so you can play from wherever you are, on your phone, in Philippine pesos, without dressing up and commuting to Parañaque.
The baccarat section at 18ph is powered by Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play Live — two of the most respected live casino providers in the world. These companies run professional studios with trained dealers, multiple camera angles, and real-time streaming quality that genuinely feels close to sitting at a live table. At 18ph, all of their baccarat tables are available in Philippine peso with minimum bets starting at just ₱50, so you don't need a VIP bankroll to start playing.
One of the things Filipino baccarat players specifically appreciate at 18ph is the variety of table types. The classic punto banco format is there for traditionalists — standard rules, multiple side bet options, and a pace that gives you time to think between hands. Speed Baccarat is available for players who prefer a faster tempo; rounds complete in about 27 seconds because cards are dealt face-up immediately rather than waiting for all bets to be placed. Lightning Baccarat adds random multipliers of 2x to 8x each round, giving hands where the multiplier hits a dramatically higher payout. And for the most immersive experience, Squeeze Baccarat has the dealer slowly reveal each card in the theatrical "squeeze" style that's beloved in Asian baccarat culture.
For high-rollers, 18ph's VIP Baccarat room offers private tables with dedicated dealers, higher limits (up to ₱500,000 per hand), and a more exclusive atmosphere. Access is available to members who meet the VIP qualification requirements — ask our support team for details after registering.
Baccarat is one of the simplest casino games to learn, which is a big part of why it's so popular. You're not playing against other players and you don't need strategy in the way poker requires. You simply bet on which outcome you think will happen: Player wins, Banker wins, or Tie. Then the cards are dealt and the results are determined by fixed rules — no decisions needed from you during the hand.
Aces count as 1. Cards 2 through 9 count at face value. Tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings all count as 0. Only the last digit of the total matters — so a hand of 7 and 8 totals 15, but in baccarat the hand value is 5.
If either the Player or Banker is dealt a total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards, that's a "natural" and no further cards are drawn. The higher natural wins, or it's a tie.
When neither side has a natural, a third card may be drawn following fixed rules based on the current totals of both hands. You don't need to know these rules in detail — the dealer and the software handle it automatically at every 18ph table.
Most tables at 18ph offer Player Pair and Banker Pair side bets — these pay 11:1 if the first two cards on the chosen side form a matching pair. Some tables also offer Perfect Pair and Perfect 8/9 naturals. Side bets carry a higher house edge but add extra excitement.
A quick note on the Banker bet: the Banker bet wins slightly more often than Player due to the third-card drawing rules — about 51% of decisive hands versus 49% for Player. That's why a 5% commission is charged on Banker wins. Even with the commission, Banker remains the bet with the lowest house edge (about 1.06%) of any standard bet in the game. Player bet has a house edge of around 1.24%, which is still very competitive. The Tie bet has a house edge above 14%, which is why experienced baccarat players rarely use it beyond an occasional punt for excitement.
House edge figures are theoretical long-run averages based on standard baccarat rules.
